WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Automobiles and other things make gasses such as carbon dioxide. These gasses are forming a blanket around the earth similar to putting a plastic bag around a can. How do you think this might affect the earth's temperature?

YOU NEED:

• 2 thermometers
• 1 plastic bag
• 2 cans
• water

DO THIS:

1. Fill both cans with tap water.

2. Wrap one can in the plastic bag.

3. Put both cans in a sunny spot.

4. Wait about one hour and then measure the temperature of both cans.
