WHAT DO YOU THINK?

What is the difference between dew and frost?

YOU NEED:

• 2 cans
• 1 measuring cup
• 1 paper towel
• room temperature water
• ice cubes
• rock salt

DO THIS:

Making Dew:

1. Fill one can half way with water. Wipe the outside of the can to be sure it is dry.

2. Add enough ice to fill the can.

Making Frost:

3. Fill the other can about half way with ice.

4. Next add 1/4 cup of rock salt and 1/2 cup of water.

5. Add enough ice to fill the can. Wipe the outside of the can to be sure it is dry.

Compare:

6. Wait a few minutes, then record your observations.
